Team Building
Forgotten Veterans UK
Field Gun Sport has visited Forgotten Veterans UK at Fort Cumberland several times for team building exercises.
This has given the crew and rest of the staff at Field Gun Sport opportunities to get to know each other better and grow as a team, something that is essential on the track for the sport of Pro Field Gun.
Headway
A team building day where the crew will do a Field Gun flat run.
Business and Project Planning
DO YOU WANT TO LEARN FROM THE GREAT MILITARY MINDS AND TAKE THE MYSTERY OUT OF BUSINESS PLANNING?
Events are often described as being planned with military precision. That precision is the result of planning that is conducted in a common format with clearly understood outputs; a military decision-making process (MDMP). And when the stakes are high it’s good to have one thing less to worry about.
"Decision making is knowing if to decide, then when and what to decide. It includes understanding the consequences of decisions. Decisions are the means by which the commander translates his vision of the end state into action."
But no two missions in a rapidly changing environment are ever the same just as no two market places or projects within a dynamic business will be identical. In fact, the only thing most combat situations have are that they take place in the rain, at night, over 2 map sheets and on a few hours sleep. The process to formulate a plan has to be broad ranging and flexible enough to resolve pretty much any challenge. The lessons from planning in complex and frequently hostile environment are readily transfer into business planning. So I would like to share that with you.
The military routinely train their leaders using a tactical exercise without troops (TEWT). A scenario is drawn up and the leaders are tasked to come up with a plan on a piece of ground. Exercise Butser Gap is just that but related to business planning to allow you to develop your thoughts on a planning format and how to organise your team and resources. And it’s a day outdoors in the glorious Queen Elizabeth Country Park.
The format of the day is a little bit of classroom work to orientate you to the task, followed in the second part of the morning with a discussion on the ground before dividing into small teams to come up with a plan. By mid-afternoon you will have a plan and so we will come together to work out what is the ‘DS pink’ answer. Finally, we will return to how an MDMP could relate to business planning and lessons from the day.
Delegates need to be independently mobile. There is space for up to 15 people who will be organised into syndicates. Remember there is no such thing as bad weather just the wrong choice of clothes but just in case you will receive joining instructions well in advance
So join me on Exercise Butser Gap.
Just call me to find out more and book a date.
